THANKS TO YOU
Through the amazing support, we are reaching the most vulnerable communities in Uganda & Bangladesh, empowering them to create a sustainable end to hunger and poverty for themselves, their communities and for future generations to come.
In December 2020, Mpigi a community located in Uganda with over 50,000 people, achieved the incredible milestone of self-reliance which is the ultimate goal of the work THP does in Africa. This community which was once in poverty has demonstrated they now have the leadership, skills and resources needed to continue their development independently and lead their own vision towards a future free of hunger.
Oruka, a community of over 20,000 people are working towards the ultimate goal of self-reliance. They are making inspiring progress and have demonstrated their commitment and resilience in taking charge of their own development to bring about the sustainable end of hunger and poverty. The Oruka community have effectively identified their leadership committee who will develop goals, priorities and milestones for the community to work towards.
SDG UNIONS PROGRAM - DUMURIA, BANGLADESH
This program aims to localise and build community ownership sustainable development goals (SDG) through partnering with volunteers. Despite the impact of COVID-19 THP worked diligently to mobilise 29,435 community partners through the delivery of 1,291 initiatives and campaigns throughout Dumuria. In addition, local leaders and community partners stepped up to organise and lead their own initiatives, from building COVID-resilient villages to stopping child marriages, to responding to natural disasters, further broadening the reach and impact of the SDG Unions program in Dumuria.
