As the matching partner for Foodbank’s Winter Appeal, every donation will be matched by DECJUBA Foundation. That means, for every dollar donated, we double our impact and deliver four meals to vulnerable children and families.
Through these efforts, Foodbank can continue to work with frontline charities to support a range of food relief programs including access to emergency hampers, community pantries and soup vans. These programs span across Melbourne to Mildura and Cann River to Kaniva, ensuring every community who needs support can receive it.
Additionally, Foodbank is exploring a new direct distribution model to support local communities. This new approach allows Foodbank to provide a more personalised and dignified way for children and families to access food through a shopping experience that removes the stigma and supports their specific needs.
With the increased cost of living and impacts of Covid-19 still felt by many, an increased number of people have become reliant on organisations like Foodbank to get by, with food becoming the first compromise for many. Recipients of food and grocery relief report they feel less hungry, are able to focus and concentrate more, are less stressed, and are more hopeful.
